The Alphas have spent the fall heavy into research. We’ve done some light experiments- bending light, making reflections and creating rainbows with water and sunlight. We also did some experiments with density and buoyancy and made science journals. We are all over incline planes and are seeing them every where. I love hearing them talk about force, friction and gravity in their everyday conversations!
The weather has been fabulous so the other day we took a walk through the neighborhood. I took them to a special place that the neighborhood kids play in. It feels like woods and forts. We had a great time exploring there. We also planted bulbs in front of The Schoolhouse sign so it will be beautiful in the spring!
We have finished counting pennies and presented a check to Joe Nelson from the Vermont Covered bridge Society. We raised $111.33. Then last Friday a woman who read about us in the paper came and gave us seven bags of pennies. We counted some more but decided to just take them to the bank and send a check for $52.40 to the town of Bartonsville. The Alphas had seed a video of the covered bridge in Bartonsville being washed away during the storm and knew that the town had decided to rebuild it.
