Annual Appeal FAQ

What is an annual appeal?

An annual appeal is a recurring, yearly request by a non-profit organization for financial support toward operations and sustainability. An annual fund contribution is over and above the fees for any services.

Most, if not all, excellent schools and non-profit organizations rely on an annual appeal to provide funds that are critical to fulfilling their mission.

How is the money from the annual appeal used?

A strong annual fund allows The Schoolhouse to:

  • provide an innovative and meaningful education
  • maintain excellent staff-to-student ratios
  • attract and retain high quality teachers
  • offer competitive staff compensation and benefits
  • keep tuition and fees as low as possible
  • provide generous scholarship support
  • maintain and improve our building
  • include special programs like Farm, Food, Forest, Preschool in the Woods, Spanish, and Music
  • support staff professional development and training
  • provide frequent parent-teacher interactions and community gatherings to maintain strong home-to-school connections
