Part Time Bookkeeper

The Schoolhouse Learning Center in South Burlington, VT, a 50+ year old K-8 independent school and licensed child care center has an immediate opening for an experienced bookkeeper. Beyond specific bookkeeping skills, the ideal candidate will be a team player who is excited to work in a fast paced, non-profit setting.  A positive attitude, flexibility  and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively are a must.

 

General Scope of Work

The Bookkeeper will support the Schoolhouse Business Manager in conducting a select portion of the business operations of the school including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, benefits administration and recording and depositing payments. This Bookkeeper will maintain the financial records for the school in accordance with applicable laws and regulation and in accordance with the school’s fiscal policies.

Substitute teachers (all programs)

​

Substitute teachers (Prek-8th grade) needed for our year-round programs at all age levels – preschool, elementary school, middle school and afterschool. We are looking for dedicated candidates who enjoy working with children of various ages. The Schoolhouse values student choice, open-ended play, a connection to nature, and positive support for students. We also seek to provide a school environment dedicated to anti-bias and social justice practices. Flexibility, levelheadedness, and a sense of humor are important in this role. Excellent communication skills a must. Training will be provided. Immediate openings.
