Head Preschool Teacher

 

The Schoolhouse Learning Center is seeking a Head Teacher for the older preschool classroom (ages 3 to 5) in our nature and play-based preschool program. Candidates should enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors in all weather, hiking, exploring, and teaching children about the natural world, as well as overseeing a social-justice focused preschool curriculum.

This position is full-year, 30+ hours a week, with the option of reducing hours for the summer months.

Job Qualifications:
3+ years experience as a Head Teacher in a preschool classroom. BA in early childhood or elementary education or a BA in a science/nature related field desired. Other education may be accepted if the teacher has extensive proven experience, interest in nature/play-based education, and a willingness to further education according to licensing expectations. Teachers must attend 15 hours of professional development training in early childhood education each year, and obtain certification in First Aid/CPR.
